Pretty much my entire defense outside of Makar and Parayko has been a tire fire: niku/pilut/persson/smith/subban, I expected much more in the summer. Also, Casey Desmith.

Question regarding players on leave such as Bobby Ryan - he has the option to be put on IR on Fantrax. Am I allowed to do this, or does he have to occupy a bench spot?

It's definitely not the same as a player on suspension but he's also not on actual IR. He's on an exempt list from the active 23-man roster for Ottawa.

We've not encountered a case like this very often. I think you can only bench him for now but I guess we can decide how to handle players that go into that NHLPA program during the season.

FWIW in other leagues for situations like this we have allowed them on IR to open a roster spot while they're away or in treatment. Suspended players stay on the bench though.

Maybe be able to put him in the minors until he returns and then have to call him back up immediately once activated? IR also works...

Good in our format still a 1st line W ranked 46th without SHTOI, but his scoring has been way down this season. Think they are trying to send a message.

Sending a message because he has not played all that well and his play has mostly been lethargic.

Also, Primeau with a solid debut against one of the best teams in the NHL. He really kept Montreal in the game with some really good saves. Francouz was excellent in the last 10 mins to hold off Montreal's late push.

He is ir/ltirable since he is in the substance abuse program. All were in favour.
